My name is Danielle Taylor. I am a Delaware native, wife, mother of three and medical office manager. My children, ages 13, 9 & 7 attend the Woodbridge School District and have been enrolled with Woodbridge since they each began Kindergarten. I was inducted to the Woodbridge School Board on January 21, to serve a 6 month term and I am running to retain this seat for the following 5 year term. I have worked full-time managing a medical practice for almost 10 years. I have served as a Woodbridge Little League Board of Director since 2019, currently volunteering my time as the Player Agent. I have volunteered during countless little league seasons, as team manager/team Mom. I have coached/managed with the Western Sussex Youth Soccer Association. I love spending time with my family outdoors and going camping.
Why did I choose to run for Woodbridge School Board of Education?
I believe that the education of our children is one of the most important things in this world. Our children are our future! We want them to become highly successful, healthy, and contributing citizens. As a parent, I have experienced firsthand the work involved, trying to manage a full-time career, family and our children’s education.
The educators, staff and administrators of Woodbridge School District have continued to succeed amidst so many obstacles. I want to be a voice for the parents of our district. I am ecstatic to fill the 6 month term, after appointment against 6 other candidates in January and I am asking for your support in my mission to continue serving on May 11!

Three of the biggest challenges currently facing our schools are virtual learning, covid-19 pandemic, and economic recessions. These challenges effect our students, teachers, and businesses within our districts which has driven me to run for school board. Christian School District serve more than 14,000 students and employing 2, 800 people. Many years of disparities and inequities have plagued our districts without being sufficiently addressed or resolved.
It is time to speak up, stand up and be an advocate for quality education for all children!!!
I was first elected to the Delmar School Board in 2011, followed by reelection for a second term. I am currently serving as the President of the Delmar Board of Education; Liaison to The Wicomico County Board of Education; Member of the Delmar School District Wellness Committee; and as the Board Representative to the Administrator Interview Committee (Preliminary and Final Levels).
Previously, I have served as Delmar Board of Education Vice President; Board Representative to the Professional Learning Community (PLC), Leadership Team; Board Representative to the Delaware Department of Education Performance Review; Board Representative to the Race To The Top Initiative; and Board Representative to the Teacher Of The Year Committee.
I attended Penn State University and studied Secondary Education with a focus on English and History education. My husband Joe & I have been married for nearly 22 years.
We moved to Delmar, DE in early 2005. Prior to our move, we thoroughly researched the Delmar area and decided that this would be a wonderful place to raise our family. We loved the community atmosphere and excellent schools. We knew that this was the place we wanted to call home. Delmar has proven to be everything we hoped it would be. The community is amazing and the school is excellent.
We have six children together; three are currently attending Delmar Middle and High School in grades 8, 9, and 12. Our three oldest daughters are pursuing their undergraduate degrees at various colleges: Cornell University, Mississippi State University, and the University of North Alabama.
This year, our Delmar High School senior is awaiting a few more college admission decisions before selecting which school she will be attending this fall.
The town logo: “The Little Town Too Big for One State” says it all. I am proud to call Delmar home.
I am a Lewes native with deep roots in this town and community. I am a 4th generation graduate of Cape Henlopen School District and a graduate of Delaware Technical & Community College with an Associates Degree in Science. I genuinely care about community members and especially, their amazing children. I am a passionate mother of two boys, 17 and 12, who have always attended schools in the Cape Henlopen District and a daughter who is 6. We elected to enroll our daughter in private school. I was fortunate enough to be able to work from when covid struct and schools closed. My daughter’s school brought ALL of their students back last August, where my boys have been doing hybrid which does NOT work. They are not following the Science, Cape Henlopen Schools need to open 100%. I will always put children first if elected. My opponent is pro district, where I am pro children. I will also fight for 100% transparency, for all academic and non-academic material, with parent notification and ability to opt their child out. I will also advocate mental health awareness. Our children area suffering and need us to fight for them. I will always advocate for the students and their families. I want to be the voice of the parents.
